Founded on July 1, 1988, Qiushi Journal is the organ of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). It is the most influential and authoritative magazine devoted to policy-making and theoretical studies, with a circulation of 1.26 million in 2010.
Qiushi Journal is derived from the four-character phrase shi shi qiu shi, which means “seeking truth from facts.”
The task of the publication is to publicize the governing philosophy of the CPC. Its content covers political, economic, cultural and social issues, while providing analysis of world politics and China’s foreign relations. The magazine, as a high-level forum, provides in-depth reportage.
Based on its publishing principle to focus on current issues of profound importance and those relating to China’s reform and opening up and modernization endeavors, Qiushi Journal provides readers with timely, accurate and authoritative articles translating and explaining what is happening in China and why.
While reporting on and guiding China’s political, economic and social life, Qiushi Journal gives large space to theoretical analysis and review of China’s progress, contributing to the enrichment of the theory about development with Chinese characteristics, which is vital to better and faster development of the Chinese society.
